How to Use Sora Video to Image on Imagens.App: Step by Step

ImagensGuidePublished Updated

What this does

Sora generates video, but sometimes the frame you want lives inside a clip, not as a separate image. Imagens.App lets you pull that frame out, clean it up, and export it as a high-resolution image file. No timeline, no video editor, no exporting the whole clip just to grab one still.

Upload your video

Drop the Sora video file into the upload area. MP4 and WebP work; keep it under 50MB if you can. Once it finishes processing, you'll see a filmstrip preview across the bottom of the screen.

Pick the frame

Scrub through the filmstrip until you land on the moment you want. Click it. The main preview updates to show that frame at full size. If you're not sure which frame is best, click a few candidates and compare them side by side.

Adjust and enhance

Once you've selected a frame, you can tweak brightness, contrast, and sharpness. The AI enhancement pass cleans up compression artifacts from the video, which matters because video frames are often softer than dedicated image generations. Leave enhancement on unless you specifically want the raw frame.

Export

Hit export. The result comes back as a PNG at the video's native resolution. If you need a larger size, use the upscale option before exporting — it interpolates the frame to 2x or 4x without the blockiness you'd get from a simple resize.

Tips that save time

Pick a frame with motion blur minimized. Sora clips often have smooth motion, and frames mid-motion look softer than frames at rest. If the frame has text you want to keep, zoom in first to make sure it's legible before exporting.

For social media, export at the native resolution and crop afterward. Upscaling before cropping wastes processing on areas you'll cut away anyway.
